Sandwiches

In my last blog post, I talked about my favorite meal of the day: breakfast! Now, we are moving on to the second meal of the day. Just like breakfast, there are many different dishes that can be served for lunch. In my house, the most popular thing to eat for lunch is a sandwich. Have you ever eaten a sandwich? Have you ever made one? They are simple to make and there are so many combinations you are sure to find one you like. A sandwich consists of two slices of bread with meat, cheese, or any other filling in between. A few popular sandwiches in the Unites States include ham and cheese, tuna salad, and peanut butter and jelly. Some people like to add even more toppings to their sandwiches, like mayonnaise, pickles, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. I love all sandwiches, but my favorite is a BLT. A BLT is made with bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. I like to use white bread and add a little mayonnaise. In my opinion, a good sandwich needs good bread and a little crunch! Another sandwich I love is peanut butter and banana. I know this combination sounds strange, but trust me! Read the recipe below to make your own peanut butter and banana sandwich.

INGREDIENTS
Two slices of whole wheat bread
Two tablespoons of peanut butter
One ripe banana
One teaspoon of honey

First, toast both slices of whole wheat bread.
Then, spread the peanut butter evenly on one slice of bread.
Next, ask an adult to help cut the banana into thin slices.
After that, place the slices in an even layer on top of the peanut butter.
Then, drizzle the honey on top of the bananas.
Finally, place the second slice of bread on top and enjoy!
