Breakfast is Served!

What is your favorite meal of the day, breakfast, lunch, or dinner? My favorite is breakfast because there are so many options! There are many different types of food that can be served for breakfast. Some people like savory foods, like bacon, eggs, and sausage. Other people like their breakfast to be sweet, like pancakes, waffles, and french toast. In my house, everyone is always rushing to school or work in the morning, so breakfast has to be quick during the week. However, my family all comes together on Sunday mornings to eat a big, delicious breakfast. The menu changes every week, but one thing always stays the same. My brothers love to eat sweet breakfast foods, so they're always excited for my french toast casserole! This breakfast dish is so delicious it is almost like dessert. French toast casserole is a sugary breakfast made with bread, eggs, sugar, milk, and cinnamon. The bread is placed in a big pan and all of the other ingredients are mixed together and poured on top. Then, I bake the casserole in the oven for one hour. As it bakes, the house fills with the smell of cinnamon and everyone comes to the table to wait. My french toast casserole is served with maple syrup and even more sugar on top. With a dish as rich and decadent as this, it is hard not to love breakfast!
